PROM 2004
WARNING: LONG POST. RECAP OF THE WHOLE DAY.

i headed to jennelle's house around 10am. went to wallgreens to kill time, then went to jennelles. i doorbelled, and jeff answered. as i walk into the house, i see a BUNCH of cards, cups, empty mdg bottles, etc. i see amber on the couch, ryan coming down the stairs in his regular clothes, and jacklyn pop out of nowhere. jeff kept apologizing for the mess. hahah.

jennelle did my hair, while was sooo cute. jen did my makeup, while was much more prettier than i expected. jennelle said i looked like i was MEXICAN. hahah. it's ok, cause i could see what she was talking about.

i headed back to my house, got dressed and waited for JD. this time, JD picked me up and drove. my mom took pictures of us, then we left. prom was at the country club. we met up with everyone, and everyone looked so pretty.

we took pictures, and sadly, the keychain pics weren't instant..so they gave us the keychains, and the pics would come with the order. there were tons of tables/rooms for people to seat, and everyone sat in a room.

everyone was taking pictures of everyone. we got served dinner. the bread wasn't warm. all of us were hungry, so we went for the bread. While GENE was "stealing it" from everyone, coke spilled on her dress. =\ it didn't help that her dress was a creamish-white. the salad was OK. the dinner was OK too. dessert was cheesecake, but it was BLAH.

the dancing was outside under a huge canopy. it was funn. kinda cold, but fun. me and jd had a little arguement, so we went inside and talked. despite that, i still had fun.

after, everyone kinda separated. TONS of people went to an chris' afterparty..jd's cute friend. hahhaha. we saw him while we were walking, and he told us to come, but jd didn't really want to go cause he knew HELLA people were gonna go. some people went to vanessa's house...and jd, me, william, jlyn, christian, and erin went to eat at DENNY'S afterwards. had our laughs. william wanted to go bowling after, but it was almost 2am, and i doubt the alley would still be open.

after thatt we headed by vanessa's for a while, then jd dropped me off.

this is where i had a lot of fun--my house. it was about 3am, and he was just gonna stay till 4am. we got to my house, and my parents were sleeping. it was just me and jd, so we chilled in the living room, talking, and watching tv. just talking about the day and fun stuff. then THIS GUY fell asleep, so i just watched tv. mother came out and saw jd on the couch, asked what he was doing, then went back to sleep.

it was about 3:45am, and there was a RERUN of SNL on tv. oh man, it cracked me up. i ended up falling asleep, and awoke to the sound of JD's LOUD cell phone. it was 4:30am, so i woke him up and he headed home.

another note: his prom was on the 29th. 1 year, 10 months. woww..we're almost at 2 years. =]

i got tons of pics from jd already, but i need to resize/upload them, so expect them here in about 2 days.

chato burned me a copy of shrek 2 after 30 minutes of me whining. =]

NEWSPAPER
as i was in the kitchen, talking to my mom, i was browsing through the newspaper to see anything interesting.

lacy peterson case, terry gregory ordeal, high concentrations of lead in mexican candies...and to my surprise, DOWNTOWN COLLEGE PREP, Chris'(toffy's) school.

it was on the front page of the "valley" section. it was a big colored picture of students in a classroom. i read the caption and they were DCP students. i said to my mom, "hey! this is chris' school". she replied with, "oh really..i read that earlier".

as i looked back up at the picture, i noticed a guy in the background smiling. to my surprise, it was CHRIS! haha. i started laughing and showed my mom the picture. she said she didn't even notice him. HAHA. it's SOOO like chris to get into people's pictures (well, i don't know if he already in the shot, or he came in). i think i'll scan the picture and post it up.

once again, oh how i miss chris.

yesterday, justine left her cell phone in my car. i needed hot glue gun sticks (which she had), so i headed over to her house.

a visit that was supposed to only last for a couple of minutes ending up being a couple of hours.

me and justine heckkkkka chatted it up, talking about stuff..and boyyy, it was very interesting. she started making up one-liners about the "i'm sorry for...2004" song..and she went all the way up to 2010. it was funnnny..here are some..i can't really remember then word for word:

NO SCHOOL TILL WEDNESDAY
yep, you read that right. i'm STILL in school, since de anza ends late june (but we start late september, so it's pretty much the same). because i only go to school on mondays and wednesdays, and because monday is a holiday, i don't have school till next wednesday. a week off of school..woooohoO!

in my ewrt class, we had a research paper due that wednesday we came back. today, she pushed back the paper and it's due the following monday, giving me more time to perfect this paper.

jd's prom is this saturday, and i'm realllllly excited.

yes, things are looking pretty good. i have time to finally CLEAN my room/do laundry/vacuum/read the magazine i got in the mail a few days ago/more stuff.

this happened last week, but chris got into a car accident. his car flipped and everything. =\

WEEKEND FIELD TRIPS (edited version)
saturday - my teacher's solar straw bale home in capitola. to get to capitola, you have to take highway 17 down. oh man, i don't know about that highway. everytime i'm on a ride on that highway, i always get car sick (because of that sharp twists and turns). if i do end up going to santa cruz, i don't know what i'm going to do about that highway. anyways...her house was prettty nice, although it smelt weird. it's kinda funny to see about 30 students in front of someone's house.

sunday- hiking in skyline preserve. there was a 20 minute drive up the mountains...winding/narrow roads with sharp turns...then a 20 minute ride down..HORRRIBLE!! car sickness for me, justine, and jr. i still have a headache, and i've been home for about 4 hours. the hike was OK. beautiful views of the mountains. but damn that car ride.

another busy monday: a full day of school and practice.

so i didn't add much to the post. i wish i brought jd's digital camera with me so i could've shared some pics.

THE SHARK GAME
if you're not sure about what i'm talking about, i'm talking about the SAN JOSE sharks game that was on earlier today. they needed to win that game in order to stay alive, and posible play for the stanley cup. if you didn't know, i'm from san jose.

i don't watch sports, and i don't keep up with it. i'm not into basketball, football, or hockey. as i was channel surfing today, i came upon espn2, and on the channel was the sharks game. i knew this game determined their fate, so i started watching.

the game was 1-0 calgary. as i was watching, i became hooked. i squirmed and booed and got mad while watching this game. i don't remember ever being hooked to a game on tv as much as i was on this game. i wanted the sharks to advance, since they never have.

i wonder if they could have gotten that goal if they didn't lose the puck. i was watching the game as if it was the superbowl, and i had 100 bucks on it.

i'm weird. gas prices are superr high. i'm going to be car-less tomorrow. this weekend, my environ class is having 2 field trips--one to my teacher's house in capitola (solar bale home), and to the skyline preserve (hiking). incubus was on david letterman. smallville's season finale was crazyyyyy. the new-coming reality shows are ridiculous.

RESEARCH PAPER
on monday, i had a talk with my teacher about my ideas for a research paper. we exchanged ideas, and paper is going to be about war's affect on soldiers (positive/negative), using the 2 short stories "The Things they carried" and "Guests of the Nation".

on wednesday, later today, we need to turn in an outline and a list of 8 resources (4 books/4 internet). i had no time monday to make a trip to the library, so i went late tuesday afternoon.

i asked jd to accompany me, since my mom didn't like the idea of me being downtown, in the parking garage, in the elevator by myself. it's a good thing he came along.

at the library, i searched for books while jd worked on his laptop. i went on the 3rd floor, then 6th, then 8th, then back to 3rd. in all, i found 5 books that i could potentially use.

when i went to use the self-checkout, something strange happened. as i was checking out the 2nd book, it took longer than usual to scan it. the screen had an ERROR sign, and basically shut down. i told the worker near me, and went to another checkout place nearby.

this happened to me 3 times with the same book. the worker i notified helped me out, and there were technical problems with my profile and book.

i was sent to another worker. i told him my problem, he helped me out, but the problem wasn't solved. at that point, i started freaking out. i NEEDED those books desperatly, since my outline/sources are due the next day.

jd didn't have a library card, so i told him to fill out an application. his driver's license doesn't have the same address as the house he lives in now. he didn't have proof of address on him, so the card was a TEMP, meaning he could only check out 1 book at a time.

the guy who processed his app knew of my situation from his coworker, and he tried helping out too. he bend some rules and checked out the books i needed on jd's card. there was 1 book i couldn't check out because of some stupid crap. as of now, it's on hold, and hopefully i can get it tomorrow.

we left the library at 9:30pm. we spent about 30 minutes checking out my books/getting help from 3 workers. goshhhhhh!!!!

problem is, i need to turn in my outline. without that book, i don't think i can complete it. i've been skimming those books, but it's sooo hard since they're soo thick. i spent sooo much time looking for internet resources, and couldn't find much.

i debating whether i should go to class. i don't want to turn an incomplete/scant outline. i don't have my definite resources. if i don't go to class, i know i'll lose points. i don't know if she'll be handing out any helpful handouts for the paper. i just don't knowwww!!!! i could have done this earlier, but i had NO idea of what direction i was going to take with this paper.

i've a lot of time writing this post. yeah yeah, i always do this. i just don't think it's possible for me to go through all the books, gather ideas, and formulate this darn outline.

it's almost 2am, and i'm getting sleepy.

i'm watching american idol and JASMINE is safe. OH MY FREAKIN GOSHH! ok, i'm a fan of Jasmine, she didn't do so good last night, and compared to the other girls, she needs to go home. I imagined that this would hapen, but i didn't think it would actually happen.

i feel sooooo sorry for Jasmine and whoever is going to get voted off. Jasmine basically got boo-ed at. esh. Simon basically told Jasmine fans to vote for her, and looked what happened.

ok..i'm watching it right now to see who's getting voted off..

WOAHHHHH!!!!!! LATOYA LONDON! out of all, i thought she was the one who was going win. I'M TRIPPPPPPPEEENNNNNNNNN!!!

IRAQ
i try not to blog about the war, but i've gotten to a point where i need to talk about a few issues, but not alot.

it disgusted me when i saw those pictures of the iraqi's being tortured in that jail. the way they treated and demeaned those captured..ugh.

when i got home from school, i looked at the newspaper. a american man, held hostage in IRAQ, was decapitated as a sign of revenge for what those american soldiers did to their hostages. also on the front page was the hostage's father, on the ground crying, when he found out that his the video of his son's decapitation is on an Iraqi webpage.

this world is crazy.

HIS HAIRCUT
last year at my senior ball, jd styled his hair as a mohawk. it looked really nice. for his senior prom, he decided to do the same thing, but instead of just styling it as a mohawk, he decided he actually wanted a mohawk.

for weeks, he's been telling me this, and i was excited about it. yesterday, i cut it, and wow, it looks coool. i really like it, but i know some people were heckaaa surprised about it.

his mom hates it. haha. when she say it, she said, "why jon jon? you look like a chicken" (she calls him jon jon..i think that's cute..haha). anywaysss, she doesn't really like it.

justine told me today that jovver has a mohawk too. haha. what a coincidence. yeah. jovver has a xanga..hehe. so does grant

MY MOTHER'S DAY PLAN

me and my dad went to COSTCO to buy my mom some orchids. you see, my mom LOVEEESSSS ORCHIDS to death, and has her little orchid section in our backyard. me and dad found some nice orchids for the indoors, so that's our gift to her.

just a few minutes ago, mother called and said she's working double tonight (meaning she'll be working 2 shifts and will be home 7am in the morning. this means i can do what i originally wanted to do--GLAM UP THE HOUSE. i can't really GLAM it up, but i can do a lot of cleaning.

tomorrow morning, she'll come home to a clean house (me and my dad are lazy, messy people), her orchids, and hopefully a smile.

usually my mom works on holidays (thanksgiving, christmas), but surprisingly, she requested a day off for mother's day. that means she's expecting something from me and my dad. tomorrow we're gonna go out and have a family dinner (we go out for dinner maybe a FEW times a year). i hope my mom has a great day tomorrow. she deserves it.

FINALLLLLLY!!!!! 2 THINKGS I'VE BEEN WANTING TO DO
later today i'm going to watch indepenDANCE with jd at his school. his friends (and my friends) jennifer, jennie, and camille are performing. me and jd watched it last year when jennifer was in it, and i loved the show. i couldn't wait for the next one. i've been waiting all year for this show. weee!

also, i'm gonna cuting my boyfriend's hair. i was SUPPOSED to cut it last weekend, but a certain someone just found excuses for me not to cut in on those days i saw him. so today before the show, i'll have the honors of cutting it. i hope it turns out good, and i hope my mom will like his haircut (my mom has problems about him wearing his hats and beanies inside the house for some STRANGE reason). i'll probably take pictures of my finished work and post them later today. muhahhaha! i'm sooo excited! =]

ON A MISSION
last year, LONGS DRUGS had a sale for CREST TOOTHPASTE. it was a special 1 DAY SALE, and they were $1 each (veryyyy cheap). i went to LONGS around 9ish, and went searching. in the end, there were no more left. i looked in the baskets of other people in the lines, and there were the toothpastes. there was no limit, so people had more than 10..maybe even 20 in a basket. i was dissapointed..very.

to get to my point, LONGS has another sale, but for AQUAFRESH TOOTHPASTE/2 TOOTHBRUSHES/TOOTHBRUSH CLEANING TABLETS each for 88 CENTS! me and my mom saw the advertisment earlier this week, and COULD NOT pass this up. we immediatly made plans to wake up bright and early to get those bargains.

today, we got up at 6:30am. last night i stayed up to 3ish because i couldn't go sleep and was doing homework (so i was running on only 3 hours of sleep). we got to LONGS around 6:50 (since it's so close), and went straight for the toothpaste (it opens at 7am, but they opened the doors a bit early). there was a limit of 4, which i think is good, so that GREEDY PEOPLE can't take it all. it's funny, cause me and my mom are some of those greedy people. heheh.

i bought 4, my mom and my mom did. we huried out, cause i needed to go home to go use the bathroom. i asked my mom if she wanted to go to another LONGS, so we did.

to make a long story short, we went to a total of 3 LONGS DRUGS, got 20 boxes of toothpastes, 6 pairs of toothbrushes (so 12 toothbrushes), and 1 pack of toothbrush cleaners.

yep, my mom and i loveeee sales. you might wonder what we're gonna do with all that toothpaste. well, we send boxes of canned food/towels/soap/etc to our relatives in the philippines (a TON of them), and of course, for ourselves. yep. i'm done.

F R I E N D S
When someone asks you, “What’s your favorite show”, many would reply with “FRIENDS”. Some people think FRIENDS is overrated, and there’s so much hype about the show, but I truly feel that HYPE is because FRIENDS is such a great show.

I “got into” FRIENDS near the 2nd or 3rd season. I caught on quick, and loved it instantly. From then on, I was hooked. Every Thursday was devoted to FRIENDS.

When the previous season came, I started drifting from it. Then I hear that it was coming to an end. I watched phoebe get married, and some others. Although I missed all those shows, watching FRIENDS was still the same—episodes will always make me laugh.

Right now I’m watching the FRIENDS’ DATELINE special. I watched a bit at JD’s house, rushed to my house, and am watching it right now.

Tomorrow is the SEASON FINALE. It’s hard for me to imagine that there will never be any new FRIEND’S episodes (maybe reunions in the future).

When FRIENDS comes on, I know I’ll enjoy it. Reruns give me a great laugh, as if I’ve never seen it before.

I know for a fact that I will laugh, and CRY tomorrow. Every season finale, there’s one thing that remains constant—I cry. BEVERLY HILLS 90210, PARTY OF FIVE, BOY MEETS WORLD, FELICITY..and tomorrow FRIENDS.

This may be cliché, but it’s true: I love FRIENDS, and it will always be at the top of the list of my favorite TV shows.

A DAY FULL OF SURPRISES
ok, i lied. this day wasn't FULL of surprises, but i had 2.

surprise number 1: in philosophy, we got our "abortion papers" back. as he was passing them back to people, i tried to look to see what others got. all that i could see were 80's and 90's. he asked for my name, looked through the stack of papers, and handed it to me and said, "good job". i got a 100. =]

surprise number 2: my driver's license expires this year on my birthday..July 7. today i got a letter to renew my license, and to my surprise, i'm eligible to renew by mail! wooooohooo! i had a fender bender going 1mph(i didn't notice my foot was easing off the brake), but i hit car (at like, 1 mph) that was hauling something, so it fucked up my hood and looked kinda bad. anyways, because i had that little accident, i thought i would have to take a driver's test again. but i don't. =]

SAME OL' SUNDAY NIGHT
It seems like ever sunday night is the same--staying up/stressed about stuff that's due in my class tomorrow. it's either a rough draft of an essay, final draft, or a bunch of readings. cmon. yes, i may have from wednesday night till sunday night to do homework..but hey, i'm not doing hw on when i get home from school on wednesday (i'm pooped), thursday is sort of a break, there always seems to be something i'm doing on friday and saturday, and that's why i'm left with sunday.

ironically, i was more "on top" with my school work last quarter when i went to school 4 times a week (maybe it's cause i liked all my classes). but this quarter, i only go to school 2 times a week, and procrastinate soooo much (maybe cause i dislike my ewrt 1b class, the class i have the most work for). ughhhhhh! it's horrible.

because of this, i've come to the realization that having TUES/THURS classes is better than having MON/WED classes. YES, you go to school the same amount of days, but with doing hw, TUES/THURS pays off. it's been an apparent pattern that i've been doin homework sunday night. with TUES/THURS classes, i can do my hw on sunday(nothing seems to happen on sundays) and also do it on monday as well.

i can't wait till this quarter is overrrrr.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED
when i was at jd's house in the afternoon, we were watching a special on FRIENDS. a commercial came on, and we went crazy (well..kinda)! it was for the NEW GOLDEN OREO. not the UHOHS..but the GOLDEN OREO with VANILLA CENTER. me and chato were like, "oooooohhhhhhh...lets go get that!" but we went to his family party, so we decided not to.

on our way back to his house, we stopped by albertsons. NADA.

we stopped by TARGET. we rushed inside. as i went down that aisle with chato, i was praying. at the bottom of the shelf, there it was...those GOLDEN OREOS. me and chato gasp.

we're happy.

ps. at the family party, jd's cousins were playing cards and gambling. i had no cash on me. chato was winning, so he gave me a buck to play. i lost. he gave me another buck. i lost. i don't think chato is gonna give me money anymore.
